The West Springfield Public library is a vital community resource for local parents with young children. We offer a wide variety of materials and services for our youngest patrons and their families.

The material collections include board books, picture books, big books, book + CD sets, book & puppet sets, theme learning kits, magazines, parent/teacher materials, beginning readers, juvenile non-fiction, music CD’s and video in VHS and DVD formats.

Services include age appropriate storytime sessions which incorporate literacy building methods and activities, evening and Saturday storytimes, Saturday drop-in crafts, inclusion in our annual Summer Reading Program as “Read-To-Me” participants, special programming in the summer and outreach services at Headstart and area preschools.

 LATE FALL PRESCHOOL STORYTIMES

    Registration for the following programs begins on

Tuesday, Oct. 23 for West Springfield residents, and on Wednesday, Oct. 24 for non-residents.

TO REGISTER, CALL ON THE APPROPRIATE DATE AFTER 9 A.M.,

736-4561, EXT. 4, OR VISIT THE YOUTH ROOM.

Programs fill up quickly, so call early!

 

Please note- There are no storytimes during

the week of Thanksgiving, Nov. 20 - 24  

and on Friday, Nov. 10th in observance of Veteran's Day

 

“Little Crawlers”

For pre-walkers, ages birth and up. 

Tuesdays at 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Oct. 31 – Dec. 12

 

“Little Walkers”

For walkers, ages up to 24 months. 

Wednesdays at 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Nov. 1 – Dec. 13

 

 “Toddling Twos”

For 2 year olds (24-36 months). 

Thursdays at 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Nov. 2 – Dec. 14

 

“Super Storytime”

For 3-5 year olds 

Fridays at 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Nov. 3 – Dec. 15

 

 A parent or caretaker must attend and participate in each session.
