Friday, May 14, 2021
09:00am - 04:45pm

Description:

As part of the mental healthobservances in May, many national organizations join together to raiseawareness and build understanding of the significant rolemental health plays in overall health and wellness and how vital positivemental health is to a child's development and everyone's well-being.

Different Kinds of Hurt: Isaac’s Story, is a story for elementary and middle school-agedchildren, showing how an honest conversation about “different kinds of hurting”between two classmates can have a lifelong effect.

StoryWalks are an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from the A Different Kind of Hurt: Issacs's Story by Leigh Hallisey are attached to stakes, which are installed along the sidewalk between the Municipal Office Building and the library. As you stroll down the sidewalk, you're directed to the next page in the story. Isaac's Story is provided in cooperation with Jan Lambert from The Support Network. Socially distanced storywalk guidelines will be posted at the start of the walk.
